ثمانية أسباب حتى لا تستعمل الأعشاب

في دراسة متعمقة تم نشرها علي موقع ميدسكيب الطبي المتخصص Medscape.com عن فاعلية و أمان استعمال الأعشاب في العلاج جري تحليل أهم الأسباب التي قد تجعل استعمال الأعشاب خطر علي الصحة و المحاذير الواجب اتباعها و سأحاول هنا أن أوجز ما وصلت إليه هذه الدراسة في نقاط محددة:

أولاً:
أفادت الدراسة أن حوالي 38 مليون أمريكي أفادوا بأنهم استعملوا الأعشاب أو المكلات الغذائية خلال عام 2002. و يعتقد نصف هذا العدد أن هذه المنتجات مهمة بالنسبة لهم و رغم ذلك فإن ثلث من قاموا باستعمالها فقط قام بإبلاغ طبيبه المعالج بها. و هذا في غاية الخطورة لما قد يشكله من ضرر لا يعرف به الطبيب.
ثانياً:
تنتشر الأعشاب و المكملات علي نطاق واسع في السوبرماركت أو المحال الأخري( و لدى معظم الدول العربية تنتشر لدي العطارين) لذا فإن استعمالها لا يتم تحت إشراف طبي. و هذا خطر أيضاً.
ثالثاً:
أنها لا تخضع للرقابة الدوائية التي تخضع لها الأدوية و هذا يعرضها لعدة أمور هامة مثل الغش.
رابعاً:
لأن المنتج لا يحوي معلومات تفصيلية عن محتواه, آثاره الجانبية أو موانع استعماله, فهي قد يجري خلطها مع أعشاب أخري أو قد يضاف إليها أدوية غير مسموح بها مما يشكل خطر علي الصحة.
خامساً:
عند محاولة استخدامها في علاج أمراض خطيرة مثل السكر فالأعشاب من الصعب التحكم في جرعتها و خاصة عندما تباع في صورتها الخام, لذا يصعب معها ضبط مستوي السكر في الدم لأم محتوي جرعة قد يختلف تماماً عن الجرعات الأخري.
سادساً:
الدعاية المكثفة لهذه المنتجات قد تؤثر علي المرضي حتي يستخدموها بدون مراجعة الطبيب إعتقاداً منهم أنها آمنة و طبيعية.
سابعاً:
المرضي الذين يعانون من أمراض مثل إرتفاع ضغط الدم أو أمراض القلب لا يجب أن يستعملوا الأعشاب بدون معرفة الطبيب المعالج حيث أن بعض هذه المواد قد يتداخل مع الأدوية التي تستعملونها أو قد يسبب أعراض جانبية شديدة.
ثامناً:
لجوء المرضي للأعشاب و من يقومون بوصفها من غير المتخصصين قد يؤدي إلي تأخير الذهاب إلي الطبيب و بالتالي قد تتدهور الحالة الصحية للمريض.

وملخص الموضوع:

"أن الأعشاب تعتبر أدوية و تحوي مواد فعالة و لها آثار جانبية و موانع استعمال و لذا يجب أن يتم استعمالها تحت أشراف طبي و يجب كذلك أن يتم التأكد من مصدر و جودة تحضير تلك الأعشاب و طريق تصنيعها لأن ذلك يضمن سلامتها و خلوها من الغش التجاري. كما أنها قد تتداخل مع الأدوية الأخري لذا يجب مراجعة الطبيب أو الصيدلي قبل استعمالها. و لا يصح إطلاقاً شرائها من العطارين أو أي مصادر غير موثوق بها"
